Lt Gen Sanjay Kulkarni

Lt Gen Sanjay Kulkarni, PVSM, AVSM, SC, SM, VSM was commissioned into 4 KUMAON in September 1977. During his 39 Years of service he was deployed in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Sikkim, Deserts of Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh. The General Officer as Young Captain has the Distinction of Occupying the Siachen Glacier on 13 April 1984. For his daring act of occupying the Bilafondla Pass by jumping from the Helicopter at 15500 feet and premptying the Pakistanis he was decorated with Shaurya Chakra. He has Commanded an Rashtriya Rifles Battalion in Doda and Kishtwar Districts of J&K, and an Infantry Battalion in Tawang. He Commanded his Brigade and Division in Arunachal Pradesh opposite the Chinese. The General Officer is an alumni of National Defense College of Japan and New Delhi. He Retired as Director General Of Infantry in 2016 and was appointed by Shri Parrikar Saheb as Raksha Mantri on Shekatkar Committee and for Corporatisation of Ordnance Factories. He is now with Chanakya Mandal run by Shri Avinash Dharmadhikari, IAS .
