Popular legend Mick Foley cut professional terms with WWE due to Donald Trump's relationship with the company
WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley announced that he is leaving World Wrestling Entertainment over their ties to former U.S. President Donald Trump. In a lengthy social media post, Foley announced the news and explained that his 'concerns' had been simmering for 'months' but things had become untenable. The icon clarified that his decision was not chosen lightly. However, in a statement reflecting his love for WWE, Foley said he can no longer work for a company he feels is too closely tied to Trump as long as he is in office.
Clearly, Foley was speaking from a place of principle instead of some sort of vendetta against WWE. He said he would no longer represent a company that, in his estimation, “coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion” and predicted the nation is on an "accelerating path to autocracy." While the post had a solemn tone, the message was not a business but a moral decision.
Even with the divide, Foley was prudent enough to be thankful. He said he loves WWE, will always cherish his time there, and will always be grateful for WWE providing him with an opportunity in his entire career. Foley then ended his remarks with a quote from Popeye the Sailor: “I stands all I can stands, and I can’t stands no more.”

Foley explains the breaking point behind his decision
In his statement, Foley said he has long been troubled by WWE’s close ties to Donald Trump, particularly in light of what he described as the administration’s “cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrants.” Though he forged ahead with filming, Foley said those concerns deepened after hearing, in his words, the “incredibly cruel” comments Trump made in the wake of filmmaker Rob Reiner's death, describing it as the tipping point.Clearly, Foley was speaking from a place of principle instead of some sort of vendetta against WWE. What this means for Foley and WWE going forward
Foley asserted that he has contacted WWE Talent Relations to let them know that he won't be making any appearances for the company while Trump is in office. Furthering that, he announced he won't be re-signing his deal once it ends in June, which is more or less the final nail in his WWE coffin for the time being.Even with the divide, Foley was prudent enough to be thankful.
