The Dallas Stars held off the defensively sound Los Angeles Kings to secure a 3-1 victory, getting late score support from goal-scoring leader Jason Robertson as he netted the Dallas Stars' game-winning goal with 3:46 left to play in the game. Jason Robertson’s goal established the winner after the teams had fought a defensive battle, with both teams showing off the better parts of their goaltending, and Robertson only creating a goal from limited opportunities.
With just over 3:46 to go in the game, Jason Robertson gained control of a dart that appeared to be headed right for the sticks of the LA Kings' defenseman, Drew Doughty, deflected off Mikey Anderson, and slipped past the LA Kings' netminder, Darcy Kuemper, for a goal to give the Dallas Stars a game-winning goal.

“I think that’s exactly what we needed, you know, a game that is not pretty at all,” said Dallas captain Jamie Benn, who returned after missing three games because of a cut to the nose. “It’s a grind right to the end, your goalie is your best player, and you find a way to win.”
“You need a mucky goal like that,” Dallas Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. “When it’s that close, you’re looking for a one-percenter, just to try to change it some way.”
Los Angeles Kings struggle to find offense despite Stanley Cup milestones
The Dallas Stars are now 27-10-9 and 2-0-1 over the last three games after having lost six straight. Meanwhile, Jake Oettinger and the Dallas Stars’ defense were strong in their contest against the LA Kings, Oettinger turning back key scoring opportunities, including the late-period barrage by the Los Angeles Kings.
The two-time Stanley Cup-winning team has now lost three of its last four games and continues to rank among the league’s lowest-scoring teams. A disallowed goal for Dallas earlier in the third briefly gave the Los Angeles King momentum, but Robertson’s late strike ended any hopes of a comeback.
The Stars will carry momentum into their next game, while the Kings search for answers as scoring woes persist.
