Who is Green Bay Packers' coach Matt LaFleur’s wife? Inside BreAnne LaFleur’s life and how he supported his NFL journey
Matt LaFleur’s name is tied to game plans, playoff runs, and the pressure that comes with coaching one of the NFL’s most storied franchises. But long before he became the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, there was someone quietly supporting every step of that climb. His wife, BreAnne LaFleur, has been part of his football life since well before the NFL ever entered the picture. For fans, the interest isn’t just about football success. It’s about how a coaching career that demands constant movement, long hours, and uncertainty works behind the scenes. Matt’s journey through multiple college and NFL stops was never a solo effort. BreAnne has been there through the early grind, career changes, and the challenges of raising a family while football dictated the schedule.
They crossed paths again away from the field when Matt visited a tanning salon where BreAnne worked in Mount Pleasant, Mich. He eventually asked her out, and the relationship took off from there. Before fully stepping into the football world, BreAnne built her own career. After graduating from Central Michigan University, she worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative. That career became harder to maintain once Matt’s coaching path led to frequent relocations. “There’s a lot of work to do,” she said. “I have a career (as a pharmaceutical representative), where there aren’t a ton of jobs available. Hopefully I can find a position where I can transfer. Then we have to get a moving company ... It’ll be one of the easier moves we’ve made since I won’t have to do everything.”
Matt never hid the reality of his profession. Early on, he made sure BreAnne understood what life as a coach’s wife would involve. "I joked with my wife, 'Hey, just understand I'm a football coach,' " Matt told the Green Bay Packers. "I always kidded with her, 'Hey, there's two kinds of wives. Coaches wives and ex-wives.' So thank God I've got a coach's wife. She is a trooper."
The couple has two sons, Ty and Luke. When Matt was hired as Packers head coach in 2019, BreAnne stayed in Tennessee so the kids could finish school after a recent move. Matt has repeatedly credited her for holding everything together. “My wife ... is a saint,” he told The Chippewa Herald. “Family will always come first in my life. I’m lucky I’ve got such a supportive wife that allows me to fully indulge my time into my job. She does a great job raising our kids.”
When Matt was introduced in Green Bay, BreAnne was there, helping guide family members and later sitting beside him as he thanked his support system, calling her “the real rock star of the family.” It was a small moment that summed up years of quiet support behind a very public career.

Matt and BreAnne first met in 2004 at Central Michigan University. She was working as a student trainer, and he was coaching. Their first interaction was memorable, but not exactly smooth. “She was a student trainer, and I’ll never forget. I noticed her, and she said I yelled at her the first time I talked to her, because she was in the way of a drill,” Matt told The Athletic. They crossed paths again away from the field when Matt visited a tanning salon where BreAnne worked in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
