NFC North News posted a video on X alongside NFL’s Green Bay Packers’ logo. They captioned the post: “BREAKING: Following backlash from multiple media outlets the #NFL will NO LONGER air the “#Packers fan weight gain” advertisement. The ad was supposed to shed light on the struggles of obesity within Green Bay’s community and how most Packers fans are treated DIFFERENTLY due to their weight. Did the NFL turn its back on the people of Wisconsin by pulling this ad? [thinking face and grimacing face emojis].”

Eli Lilly and Company ad reportedly posted as Green Bay Packers ad

The video clip is reportedly an Eli Lilly and Co. advertisement. Tim Nudd of Ad Age shared the same video clip on Jan. 9, 2026, with the caption: “Eli Lilly and Co. is kicking off the New Year with an obesity-focused campaign that sidesteps the usual weight-loss rhetoric, opting instead for a message about personal health and boundaries.”An unnamed person is recorded in the video saying: “C’mon. Let’s hear it. You think I need your advice. You think I should go on a diet. I’ve been dieting since I was 12. You think I need to hear about your workout routine? You don’t stop to ask about mine.
No matter what I do, you’re gonna have your own thoughts. So, get it all out. And while you’re in the comment section, I’ll be focusing on what really matters. Like how I feel when I’m waking up in the morning. Like showing up for people I love. My health is my focus. And my body is nobody’s business but mine.”Final message in the video: “THERE ARE A LOT OF OPINIONS ABOUT WEIGHT. IT TAKES STRENGTH TO FOCUS ON HEALTH - LILLY, A MEDICINE COMPANY.”Eli Lilly and Company is a major pharmaceutical company known for weight loss medications such as Mounjaro [tirzepatide] and Zepbound [also tirzepatide]. These medications treat type 2 diabetes and manage obesity respectively. Why would an Eli Lilly and Co. advertisement be considered a Green Bay Packers ad? The only supposed connection is that the unnamed person in the video is wearing a green t-shirt, which is the Packers’ primary color. There is reportedly no other link between them.

The video is likely a parody clip edited for humor

An X user asked Twitter’s artificial intelligence, Grok, “@grok was the ad really with the Packers programming?” Grok replied, “Based on my search, there’s no evidence of an actual NFL “Packers fan weight gain” ad or it being pulled. The original post seems to be satire from a parody account—check their bio for the hint.” Another user commented, “Wrong @grok it was a real ad.” To which X’s AI replied, “Upon review, the “Packers fan weight gain” ad and its reported pulling seem to stem from a satirical post by NFCNorthNewss. No credible NFL sources or news outlets confirm it as real. The video is likely a parody clip edited for humor.”
