Russell Wilson is the third-string emergency quarterback for the New York Giants behind rookie starter Jaxson Dart and backup Jameis Winston. His wife, Ciara, still enjoys her time on the gridiron in her own way. This time, she danced with Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, trying his signature ‘Sexy Dance’ celebratory sack dance. The background song was reportedly So Supa’s
Don’t Hide.
Ciara wore a long black furry coat with a thick collar over black tight pants and big brown furry boots. She finished the look with a black cap with salt-and-pepper fur on the back and black goggles. Lawrence wore a thin camel-colored jacket over an all-black sweatshirt and trousers, along with a dark brown beanie and black shoes.
Russell Wilson’s wife Ciara aces Dexter Lawrence’s “Sexy Dance” sack celebration
The Giants defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-10 in Sunday’s matchup, leading to a postgame celebration.
Veteran quarterback Russell Wilson’s wife, Ciara, joined in and shared a video of the dance on her Instagram, captioned: “When you know your blessings are around the corner @dexterlawrence18.” At the end, she gave Lawrence a high-five.
Watching them dance, an Instagram user commented, “The Sexy Dexy dance go crazy.” Another said, “ He’s such a good dude.” A third user wrote, “IDK why I gotta do this dance every time that song comes on .”
A fourth user complimented Ciara, commenting, “Iconic Ci!!!” A fifth user expressed, “We need this in Madden .”
Dexter Lawrence shares his views on the viral sack dance celebration
“Everybody likes a big man dance, I guess,” Lawrence told Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com in October. “I can’t explain why now, I don’t even have a TikTok [account] myself. Maybe I should get one.
I’d much rather have people talking about it than not, then you know you’re doing something right. But nobody has done the dance quite like me yet. They have time to get it right.”
Ciara completes the circle by showing off her dance moves reportedly used as mockery for Russell Wilson’s interception
Lawrence’s celebration went viral in October, though he created it in his rookie year [2019]. It gained traction when college football wide receiver Carnell Tate imitated it. The celebration picked up pace in Week 3, when the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Giants. After Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson intercepted a pass intended for wide receiver Malik Nabers from Giants quarterback Russell Wilson, Watson broke into Lawrence’s celebratory dance, and the Chiefs’ defense joined him.
Ciara celebrated New York’s 34-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders by showing off the same dance moves [Dexter Lawrence] that once went viral reportedly as mockery for her husband, Russell Wilson’s interception. This was reportedly proof of Ciara’s fierce and boundless love for Wilson, because they’re a team. The “Nice n Sweet” singer once talked about her team spirit with Wilson in an interview on “TODAY With Jenna & Friends.”
“I am a better woman because of him,” Ciara said. “That support is tremendous because sometimes you do feel like, I don’t want to say alone feelings, but when I go home, I know I’m not alone, and his belief and support for me just gives me an extra wind of support that even though I’m a tough, independent woman, that support is critical.
And even being able to support him, like that connection that you build with supporting each other on your journeys, it’s incredible. I feel like every day we’re evolving our love by how we’re committed to supporting each other and just committed to each other. We’re a team.”
