Kevin Durant is in no mood to tolerate any judgment from a social media user who calls himself an “NBA historian.” Days after expressing frustration over one of his tweets, Durant once again went after the user for his latest post. The user criticized French player Sylvain Francisco for shaking hands with Luka Doncic on the court as the EuroBasket game ended and then proceeding to make one last basket. This didn’t sit well with Durant, who slammed him for commenting on how the game was played.
Kevin Durant calls out X user for Luka Doncic-Sylvain Francisco EuroBasket remarks
The X user, who goes by the name Jacob, has a following of around 19k on the microblogging platform. Sharing a video of Sylvain Francisco scoring after dapping up Luka Doncic, Jacob wrote, “LMAO. What has basketball become? Dapped up Luka then decided to stat pad one last layup at the end of the game.”
Durant quickly clapped back, tweeting, “Somebody help Jacob, he’s crippled by hate that he can’t understand what’s going on.”
Jacob defended his comment, replying, “I know that point differential matters, still lame. The French dude talked about it after the game, he said he regrets accepting Luka’s dap, he said that was his mistake and he should have told Luka it’s not over then drove.”
He even attached a GIF of Will Smith telling Chris Rock, “Keep my name out of your mouth,” a reference to the infamous Oscars 2022 slapgate incident.
Internet reacts to Kevin Durant-Jacob’s heated exchange
Meanwhile, the internet had a field day over the exchange between Durant and Jacob. One X user wrote, “Watch dude before he goes to the hoop, he looks to the bench for confirmation to score – this was by design.” Another defended Francisco, saying, “EuroBasket goes by a point system, the guy was smart for getting that bucket.”
One more comment read, “For someone who claims to study the game as much as you do, you really should know that point differential is very important in tournaments like this.”
