Rumours linking
Jisoo and Son Heung-min once sent both K-pop and football fans into a frenzy. Although the speculation dates back several years, the story continues resurfacing online whenever either star dominates headlines internationally.
At the time, fans closely followed every detail surrounding the alleged connection between the BLACKPINK singer and the football superstar. From matching bracelets to coincidental travel schedules, social media users believed they had uncovered clues pointing toward a secret celebrity relationship. The rumours spread so quickly that Jisoo’s agency eventually stepped in publicly to shut them down.
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Son Heung-min dating rumours created massive buzz
The dating rumours gained momentum in 2021 after online users noticed that Jisoo and Son Heung-min reportedly arrived in South Korea from France on the same day. That alone sparked intense speculation among fans already convinced the two shared a close bond.
Older moments also resurfaced online. Fans pointed to Jisoo attending one of Son’s football matches in England back in 2019, while others focused heavily on the pair allegedly wearing similar bracelets.
As the rumours spread internationally, YG Entertainment finally addressed the situation directly.
“We would like to make it clear that all dating rumours related to BLACKPINK’s Jisoo are groundless.
We have been closely observing the situation so far but as the rumours are spreading internationally, we are concerned about the damage that they will present to the artist so we would like to clarify the wrong information. We earnestly ask you to refrain from reckless speculation.”
The statement temporarily slowed the online frenzy, though discussions surrounding the pair have never completely disappeared from fan communities.
Son Heung-min excluded from 2026 MLS All-Star list surprises fans
Years after the dating speculation dominated entertainment headlines, Son Heung-min found himself back in online conversations for a completely different reason.
The football star was notably absent from the projected candidate list for the 2026 MLS All-Star Game despite arriving in Major League Soccer with enormous global attention. The event, scheduled for July at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, will feature MLS stars facing Liga MX’s All-Star squad.
When MLS officials revealed projected names by position, fans quickly noticed Son’s absence from the forward category. Players such as Lionel Messi and Hugo Kuypers appeared among the leading candidates, but Son’s name was missing.
That omission shocked many supporters because of the excitement surrounding his move to LAFC and his global popularity. Still, some observers argued the exclusion reflected current league form rather than star power alone.
Even now, Son remains one of the most recognisable Asian footballers in the world. Combined with Jisoo’s continued influence through BLACKPINK, the old rumours connecting the two stars still attract attention whenever either trends online.
