Pascal Wehrlein celebrates Madrid E-Prix podium with family, says “After three or four laps, I thought it was over”

Pascal Wehrlein was delighted to secure his third podium of the season at the Madrid E-Prix, admitting it was not something he expected. The Porsche driver went wheel-to-wheel with Cupra Kiro’s Dan Ticktum in the closing laps of Round 6 but ultimately managed to finish third. He also continues to lead the Formula E championship and celebrated the moment with his three-year-old daughter.Pascal Wehrlein shared the podium with Jaguar TCS Racing duo Antonio Felix da Costa, who claimed his second consecutive victory in Madrid, and his team-mate Mitch Evans. The latter also secured his third podium of the season.Wehrlein posted some of the most memorable moments from the maiden Madrid E-Prix at the Circuito del Jarama on Instagram. After three or four laps, I thought it was over. But I kept pushing to stay as close as possible to the top three in case something happened and I could take advantage. And that’s exactly what happened in the final chicane. Normally, I’m not someone who gets super excited about P3. But with the circumstances we had today, I’m more than happy. Thanks to everyone in the @porsche.motorsport team and our partners for another strong weekend.
