Opening up about the race, Wehrlein wrote alongside the post: “What a race! After three or four laps, I thought it was over. But I kept pushing to stay as close as possible to the top three in case something happened and I could take advantage.
And that’s exactly what happened in the final chicane. Normally, I’m not someone who gets super excited about P3. But with the circumstances we had today, I’m more than happy. Thanks to everyone in the @porsche.motorsport team and our partners for another strong weekend. And well done to @circuito_jarama for an amazing first e-prix!”
Fans react to Pascal Wehrlein’s Madrid pictures
Fans loved the pictures and flooded him with congratulatory messages. One fan wrote: “Love that your little girl is with you in these amazing moments.” Another commented: “You did well, always so happy to see you on the podium, no matter the step!”
The German driver currently leads the 2026 Formula E Drivers’ Standings with 83 points. He won the first race of the Jeddah E-Prix and finished third in Miami. With this strong run of form, it would not be a surprise if he secures his second Formula E title this season, having previously won the 2023–24 championship.
