Nick Cassidy after Berlin Round 7 second place: “Sometimes you’ve got to accept the win’s not really on”

All eyes were on Nick Cassidy when he arrived in Germany for the Berlin E-Prix. The driver had won a race at the Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit for three consecutive seasons, and there was little doubt that he would leave Berlin without a podium. He proved his fans right by finishing second in the Round 7 race. It was not a win after his hat-trick of victories, but it was certainly his fourth consecutive podium at the Berlin E-Prix, although this time he was driving for Citroen Racing.

Nick Cassidy continued his podium streak at the Berlin E-Prix this season, finishing second to Porsche’s Nico Muller. He was delighted for Muller, who became a first-time Formula E winner while driving Porsche’s Pink Pig livery in his 69th race.

Sharing his thoughts on securing a podium at the challenging Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit, Cassidy said, “I had a lot of fun today, that was an awesome Formula E race! My team did a really good job with the comms all the way through. I think in these races sometimes you’ve got to accept that the win’s not really on, but you still want a good result, and I probably managed that a bit better today than I did in Jarama, so really happy with how we executed it.”

“Huge congrats to Nico [Muller], fantastic job – I think his pace was second to none. He really deserved the win today and I’m really happy for him,” he added.

Promoting Cassidy at the Berlin E-Prix, Citroen Racing shared a post announcing his arrival. It read: “Three years of GEN3 racing at Tempelhof. Three Nick Cassidy wins. Berlin has become familiar territory for Nick, with victories at the iconic former airport circuit in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Now, he returns to Tempelhof ready for another take-off. Fasten your seatbelts.”

Nick Cassidy claims his third podium of the season in Berlin

After his Round 7 podium, Cassidy faced disappointment the next day as he was unable to finish the Round 8 race. He now stands sixth in the Formula E Drivers’ Championship with 69 points.

He has secured three podiums so far, including his win at the Mexico City E-Prix. The race has produced title winners for the past three seasons. Cassidy was so pleased with the victory that he fulfilled his promise to shave his head, a pledge he had made if he won. He had his head shaved by none other than his Citroen Racing team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne.
