Felipe Drugovich after scoring first Formula E points: “It’s always been a disaster this year”

After a long wait, Andretti rookie Felipe Drugovich finally scored his first points of the season at the Berlin E-Prix. Drugovich had been struggling to collect points ever since making his debut as a full-time Formula E driver. He eventually finished ninth in Round 8 in Berlin, collecting two points. He expressed relief at finally getting on the scoresheet, while describing his season so far as a disaster.

Sharing his thoughts after the Round 8 race in Berlin, Felipe Drugovich said, as per FormulaE.com, “My pace in qualifying has been quite good, especially in the group qualifying. In two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive we’ve been struggling quite a bit as a team, so not sure what’s going on there, we need to analyse that a little bit. In the races, it’s always been a disaster this year and at least we managed to score some points today.”

Reflecting positively on finally opening his account, Drugovich added: “All in all, I think I need to be happy with that, taking into consideration that not many people who started in the top 10 or in the top seven finished there, and this is a track where that happens. People from the back come to the front and those at the front drop back, and we managed to survive a little bit there. So overall, I think we need to be happy. There’s not much more I could have done, but hopefully this is just the start of a strong scoring run.”

Drugovich also shared his relief after securing his first points of the season in Berlin Round 8. Posting a set of pictures from the race on Instagram, the Andretti driver wrote: “P9 in today’s race! I hope these points are the first of many more this season! See you in Monaco.”

A day earlier, Drugovich had been left disappointed after failing to score in Round 7. Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, he wrote: “P13 today! Good qualifying, but we couldn’t hold onto the top ten in the race! Another one in the books, let’s go again tomorrow.”

He is currently 18th in the Formula E Drivers’ Championship with two points.
