The surface had decent bounce and there's a strong cross breeze. Whatever happens for the spinner happens in the air, with little cross breeze, it is very helpful. Going along with the variations, change of pace is very important to get the dot balls. Whenever the seam position was right and whenever you slowed it down, it just held in the wicket a touch. It's one of those surfaces where you always want to bowl first. I don't know how it's going to be with the dew but today's surface was better than what we played on last time. Dew is a very big factor and how much ever you practice with the dew, the ball is not going to come back to proper condition. The pitch also tends to skid on more with a bit of dew on it. Those are external factors you can't control, but when you do have a cross breeze like this and when you can bowl into it, it's absolutely wonderful. It is one of those games where any team will find it hard to get out there and play but having said that wearing the India colours and representing India every single time is a matter of pride and we all know that. We wanted to give it our best, things went alright. Hopefully the second innings is good as well.
