Ladakh Protesters Rally In Leh And Kargil Demanding Statehood, Sixth Schedule

Leh Apex Body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) held a peaceful protest today to highlight their four-point agenda, which includes the restoration of statehood for Ladakh, inclusion under the Sixth Schedule, job opportunities, and cultural security. Independent MP Haji Mohammad Haneefa Jan stated that these protests have been ongoing for the last four to five years to press for resolution of these issues. He noted that the last high-power committee meeting did not reach any conclusion, and no further meetings have been scheduled. The protest aimed to convey the concerns of the common people of Ladakh to the Home Ministry, urging prompt action and dialogue to address their demands regarding statehood and Sixth Schedule inclusion.
