Even after her repeated attempts, the shoes of Kulbhushan Jadhav's wife were not returned. Pakistan says there was a camera or a recorder in the shoes, nothing can be more absurd than this as she traveled in 2 flights with those shoes on. It is an absurdity beyond measure.

Congress and Left leaders have said that criminalisation and a jail sentence may be excessive while some Muslim organisations have held that the Supreme Court ruling striking down triple talaq as unconstitutional is against Sharia law. A section of activists have argued that marriage is a civil contract and should not involve criminal proceedings.

The meeting between Jadhav and his mother and wife took place on December 25 at the Pakistani foreign affairs ministry in Islamabad after repeated requests by India for family access. Jadhav, who was arrested in March, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court for alleged spying, an accusation that India has dismissed as concocted.
