Watch: Army's daring night evacuation at 17,000ft Kongmarula Pass; 2 South Korean nationals rescued

The Indian Army swiftly responded to a distress call on September 4th, launching a rescue operation to evacuate two South Korean nationals stranded at the Kongmarula Pass in Ladakh. Helicopters were deployed within 15 minutes of receiving the request, successfully airlifting the individuals from the high-altitude location around 9:15 pm.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Army on Thursday carried out a swift rescue operation to evacuate two South Korean nationals stranded at 17,000 feet in Ladakh's Kongmarula Pass.According to the Army's Fire and Fury Corps, the request for a Casualty Evacuation (Casevac) mission was received at around 8:05pm on September 4. Within 15 minutes, helicopters were pressed into service to reach the remote high-altitude location.
The chopper successfully landed at the peak around 9:15pm, where the rescue team airlifted the stranded foreign nationals. Both were then handed over to medical authorities for further care.The Army said the timely operation reflected the rapid response capability of its units deployed in the region.
