Later, the Jabalpur Police took his custody and took him to the nearby Omti police station. He would be handed over to Bhopal police,
This came after Singh reached the district court to surrender after withdrawing his pre-arrest bail application filed in the Madhya Pradesh high court.
A lawyer by profession, he had been evading arrest since an FIR was registered against him and his mother, former district judge Giribala Singh, following Twish's death on May 12.
Members of Twisha's family and their lawyers were also present outside the court.
Her mother--in-law Giribala Singh — a retired district and sessions judge who currently heads the Bhopal Consumer Court — was granted anticipatory bail by a city court last week.

Twisha Sharma was found dead at her matrimonial home in the state capital’s Katara Hills area. While her family accused her in-laws of dowry harassment and abetment to suicide, the Singh family alleged that she was addicted to drugs.
Police registered an FIR against Samarth Singh and his mother under Sections 80(2), 85 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
Police had also announced a cash reward of Rs 30,000 for information leading to Samarth Singh’s arrest and moved court seeking the revocation of his passport.
