Thalassery assembly results: CPI(M)’s Karayi Rajan wins by over 20,000 votes, Congress’s Saju K P trails

Thalassery Assembly constituency delivered a clear mandate as CPI(M) candidate Karayi Rajan emerged victorious after the completion of all 15/15 EVM rounds. He secured a strong lead of over 20,000 votes over Congress candidate Saju K P, ensuring a comfortable win for the ruling front in the constituency.Thalassery, in Kannur district, is a historical town with a mix of urban, coastal, and semi-rural populations, housing about 2.2 lakh voters.In the 2021 elections, CPI(M) candidate PK Sreemathy won, defeating UDF’s candidate by around 3,200 votes. The BJP has limited influence here.
