Piravom election result 2026: Anoop Jacob Secures Comfortable Victory

Kerala Congress (Jacob) candidate Anoop Jacob secures a decisive victory in Piravom, polling nearly 90,000 votes and defeating Kerala Congress (M)’s Sabu K. Jacob by a massive margin, reflecting strong voter consolidation in his favor.

Piravom Assembly constituency, numbered 85, is in Ernakulam district of Kerala and falls under the Kottayam parliamentary constituency.

Established in 1957 and adjusted in the 2008 delimitation, it spans Piravom municipality, nearby panchayats like Eranellur and Kochi-Vazhakulam, with around 212,000 electors.

This semi-urban general seat mixes agrarian communities, rubber plantations, small industries, and Christian-majority voters near the Periyar River. Kerala Congress (Jacob) [KC(J)], aligned with UDF, dominates under Anoop Jacob, the current MLA since 2012.

In 2021, he won decisively with 85,056 votes (53.8per cent), defeating KC(M)'s Sindhumol Jacob (59,692 votes) by 25,364 votes (16.04per cent) at 74.62per cent turnout—extending his 2016 margin of 14,647.

KC(J) has held sway since 2011, reversing brief LDF gains.
