Jitendra Kumar Tewari of the
Bharatiya Janata Party won the Pandabeswar (SC) Assembly Constituency No. 275, defeating Narendranath Chakraborty of the
All India Trinamool Congress.
Pandabeswar is an assembly constituency located in West Bengal’s Paschim Bardhaman district. It is one of the seven assembly segments that fall under the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency.
Narendranath Chakraborty of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is the sitting MLA from Raniganj. He won the seat in the 2021 assembly election by securing 44.99% of the total votes polled. He was followed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Jitendra Tiwari, who received 42.68% of the votes.
In the recent assembly polls, Trinamool entrusted Chakraborty with retaining the seat. He was again challenged by BJP's Tiwari.
Earlier, the constituency was won by Runu Dutta of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) in 2016. In 2011, Ali Sohrab of AITC had secured victory in the seat.
