Pala Election Result 2026: Independent Mani C Kappen Wins in Tight Contest

Mani C Kappen secures victory in Pala as an Independent candidate, defeating Kerala Congress (M)’s Jose K Mani by a narrow margin of 2,991 votes in a closely fought battle.

Pala Assembly constituency, numbered 93, is located in Kottayam district of Kerala and falls under the Kottayam parliamentary constituency. Established in 1957 and redefined in the 2008 delimitation, it covers Pala municipality and surrounding panchayats like Lalam, Marikarala, and Melukavu, with around 138,000 electors. This general seat is renowned for its strong Syrian Christian community, rubber plantations, fertile farmlands, and pilgrimage-tourism spots like St. Thomas Church, blending rural prosperity with semi-urban growth in the central Kerala's lush midlands. Mani dominated for decades (2016: 58,884 votes, 4,703 margin).
