Padma awards 2025: Top 10 personalities conferred with nation's highest civilian honours

Arijit Singh was awarded the fourth-highest civilian Padma Shri on Saturday. Arijit Singh is one of India's most celebrated playback singers, known for his soulful voice and incredible versatility. Rising to fame with Tum Hi Ho from Aashiqui 2 (2013), he has since become the voice behind numerous chartbusters across Bollywood and regional cinema. Folk singer Sharda Sinha was conferred with Padma Vibhushan posthumously. Lovingly called 'Bihar Kokila', Sharda Sinha is known for her Chhath songs and for her huge contributions to folk music specially Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi, which she is credited for bringing to a wider audience.

Bibek Debroy, a polymath in the truest sense of the word, was posthumously awarded Padma Bhushan on Saturday. Known for his far-reaching contributions to economic theory and policy, Dr Debroy was a respected figure in the fields of game theory, law reforms, and Indology, as well as an advocate for poverty reduction and social equity.

Ravichandran Ashwin was awarded Padma Shri on Saturday in the field of sports. He is one of India's greatest spin bowlers, known for his intelligence and versatility. Announcing his retirement from international cricket in December 2024, he finished with 537 Test wickets, becoming India's second-highest wicket-taker.

PR Sreejesh was awarded Padma Bhushan in the field of sports. PR Sreejesh is a legendary Indian hockey goalkeeper known for his exceptional reflexes and leadership.
