Shah’s statement

Amit Shah, while speaking in the Rajya Sabha, criticised the Congress party, stating that it had turned the name of Ambedkar into a "fashion." He further remarked, "If they had taken the name of God instead of Ambedkar, they would have earned heaven for seven lives." (ANI screengrab)

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh responded strongly to Shah’s comments, accusing the BJP of diverting attention from critical issues like inflation, unemployment, and inequality by repeatedly invoking the name of Jawaharlal Nehru.
