Lumding assembly elections 2026

Sibu Misra of the BJP emerged victorious in the election, securing a total of 115330 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Swapan Kar by a decisive margin of 22114 votes.

Lumding is an assembly constituency in Hojai district of Assam. It is one of the 126 constituencies in the Assam Legislative Assembly.

In the 2021 Assam Assembly elections, the constituency had 2,12,304 registered voters, with 1,74,579 valid votes cast.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sibu Misra won the seat with 89,108 votes. Congress candidate Swapan Kar finished second with 77,377 votes, losing by a margin of 11,731 votes.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Lumding had 1,82,377 electors, with 1,56,524 valid votes recorded. BJP candidate Sibu Misra won the seat with 72,072 votes, defeating Congress candidate Netra Ranjan Mahanta, who secured 41,672 votes. The victory margin was 30,400 votes.
