Kollam Assembly constituency is a general seat in Kollam district, Kerala, encompassing Kollam city, Asramam, and coastal-urban areas with cashew industries, fishing harbors, and backwaters shaping its politics.
The current MLA is M. Mukesh from CPI(M), elected in 2021 with 58,524 votes (44.86 per cent), defeating INC's Bindu Krishna (56,452 votes, 43.27 per cent) by 2,072 votes, while BJP's M. Sunil got 14,252 votes (10.93 per cent) amid total valid votes of 129,701.
For the 2026 elections, the participating candidates are S Jayamohan (CPI(M)), Bindu Krishna (INC) and Dr Prathap Kumar N (BJP).
