Sandip secured 96,919 votes. CPI(M)'s Dipu Das finished third with 20,042 votes, followed by Congress's Md. Hasim Zeshan Ahmad with 2,019 votes.
Thirteen candidates contested from Kasba in West Bengal's 2026 Assembly Election, along with NOTA.
Kasba is a fully urban assembly constituency in South 24 Parganas district, comprising wards of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. It falls under the Kolkata Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency and is part of the cosmopolitan southern Kolkata landscape, with a well-educated, middle-class electorate.
In 2021, incumbent TMC MLA Javed Ahmed Khan retained the seat convincingly, polling over 54 per cent of the vote and defeating BJP's Dr Indranil Khan by a margin of nearly 64,000 votes. In 2016, Javed Ahmed Khan again won the seat, continuing his unbroken run since 2011. Khan, a senior TMC leader who also served as a minister in the state government, has been central to TMC's hold over the constituency.
