NEW DELHI: The Unnao rape case survivor on Wednesday met leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha,
Rahul Gandhi, a day after the
Delhi high court suspended the life sentence of former BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar, the convict in the case.

“We just want to meet him (Gandhi) and tell him what we are going through. I also want to meet the Prime Minister and Amit Shah. Our President is a woman. I want to meet all of them and apprise them of the injustice done to me,” the survivor told reporters as she arrived at the residence of Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi’s mother, where he stays.

"They assured us that they would help us get justice. Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were crying after hearing me. . Rahul Gandhi has given us a lot of strength and assured us that we will get justice... This order has weakened the daughters of the country," she said.
The woman, who was a minor when Sengar committed the crime in June 2017, met the LoP hours after the Congress leader, in a post on X, condemned the "manhandling" of the survivor by security forces at Delhi’s India Gate, where she was protesting the grant of bail to Sengar.

His life term will remain suspended for the duration of the pendency of his appeal challenging his conviction and sentencing.
