Golaghat election results 2026: BJP's Ajanta Neog defeats Congress's Bitupan Saikia
NEW DELHI: In Assam’s Golaghat (Assembly Constituency 103), the verdict was emphatic, with Ajanta Neog of the Bharatiya Janata Party registering a landslide victory. Polling 1,02,212 votes, Neog defeated Bitupan Saikia of the Indian National Congress by a massive margin of 43,759 votes, underscoring the BJP’s deepening hold in the region. The scale of the win reflects both a strong personal mandate for Neog and the party’s organisational strength on the ground. Other contenders, including Independent candidate Rubul Borah, remained marginal in the contest, with minimal vote shares, while NOTA too saw limited traction. The result mirrors the broader trend across Assam, where the BJP has not only retained its base but significantly widened the gap over the opposition.
