Farmers protest live updates: Congress meet over farmers issues under away

The eighth round of dialogue between the government and 41 farm union representatives on Friday remained inconclusive. The farmers stuck to their demand that the three new farm laws be repealed. Next round of talks has been scheduled for Jan 15. Stay with TOI for all updates:

Farmers have been protesting at the gates of Delhi since November 26 last year against the newly enacted farm laws -- Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance, and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
