Falakata election result 2026: BJP's Dipak Barman defeated TMC's Subhash Chandra Roy by 45,999 votes

In West Bengal's Falakata (SC) seat, BJP candidate Dipak Barman defeated TMC candidate Subhash Chandra Roy by 45,999 votes. Barman got 1,34,370 votes while Roy got 88,371 votes.

Falakata (SC) is a Scheduled Caste-reserved constituency in Alipurduar district of West Bengal, lying in the Dooars region of north Bengal. In 2026, the candidates include Subhash Chandra Roy of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Deepak Barman of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Akshoy Kumar Barman of the Congress.


In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, the constituency was won by Dipak Barman of the BJP, who defeated his nearest rival from the TMC by a margin of approximately 16,000 votes. The victory was seen as part of the BJP's strong performance in several north Bengal constituencies during that election cycle.
