Dotma elections results 2026: BPF’s Rabiram Narzary wins by 24,283 votes in ST seat

Rabiram Narzary of the Bodoland Peoples Front won the Dotma assembly seat in Assam, defeating Raju Kumar Narzary of the United People's Party, Liberal by a margin of 24,283 votes. Narzary secured 48,775 votes, while Raju Kumar Narzary polled 24,492.

Birkhang Boro of the Indian National Congress finished third with 15,410 votes. Independent candidates secured marginal votes, with NOTA recording 1,138 votes.

Dotma, a Scheduled Tribe-reserved constituency in Kokrajhar district within the Bodoland Territorial Region, is one of the newer assembly segments in Assam and part of the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat.

The constituency recorded a voter turnout of 86.47%, higher than 81.8% in 2021. Assam’s 2026 assembly elections saw a record turnout of 85.9%, the highest since 1951, with women voters at 86.5% surpassing male participation, reflecting strong electoral engagement across the state.

According to EC data, women recorded a voter turnout of 86.5% in the 2026 assembly elections, over a percentage point higher than men at 85.3%. This also marks the highest-ever female participation in the state.
