Coronavirus live updates: Maharashtra reports 47,288 new Covid-19 cases
India recorded an all-time high of 1,03,558 coronavirus infections in a day pushing the nationwide Covid-19 tally to 1,25,89,067, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Monday. The single-day rise in cases surpassed the earlier peak of 97,894 infections reported on September 17, last year, making it the highest since the pandemic began in India. US halts AstraZeneca vax production at Baltimore plant
A plant in the US which ruined 15 million potential doses of Johnson and Johnson's Covid-19 vaccine has been asked to stop producing doses for AstraZeneca, the media reported. The facility at Baltimore, Emergent Biosolutions, was earlier picked as a manufacturing partner for both AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson. The development could be a setback for AstraZeneca which is yet to receive approval for its Covid-19 vaccines in the US.

According to the Health Ministry's reports, the cumulative vaccination figure includes over 6.5 crore (6,57,39,470) first doses, while the second dose numbers have crossed the 1 crore (1,02,40,181) mark.
