Amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases, the Mumbai Police has imposed Section 144 in the city from April 5 to April 30. The prohibitory orders will come into effect at 8pm, the police said. In 5 charts: Why Mumbai's Covid numbers have triggered alarm The directory signed by deputy commissioner S Chaitanya prohibited more than five people from moving together or gathering in any public place between 7am and 8pm on weekdays. The rest of the time (i.e between 8pm and 7am on weekdays) and also between 8pm on Friday and 7am on Monday, nobody would be allowed to move in any public place without valid reasons.
