Coronavirus live updates: Centre reviews preparedness of 5 states in Eastern India
A record 3,780 fresh Covid-19 fatalities were registered in a single day in India taking the death toll to 2,26,188, while 3,82,315 new coronavirus infections were recorded, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Wednesday. With the fresh cases, the total tally of Covid-19 cases in the country climbed to 2,06,65,148. Stay here for all live updates

Delhi: DRDO begins installing oxygen plants at AIIMS, RML hospital
Two of the five medical oxygen plants to be set up in and around Delhi by DRDO and its industrial partners are now being installed at the AIIMS Trauma Centre and RML Hospital. The other plants at the Safdarjung Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College and AIIMS, Jhajjar (Haryana) will also be set up this week. “These medical oxygen plants (MOPs) are designed for a flow rate of 1,000 litres per minute (LPM). The system can cater to 190 patients at a flow rate of 5 LPM and charge 195 cylinders per day,” said a DRDO official on Tuesday.

Covid surge: Air India flies in 190 tonnes medical equipment from across globe to India
During the ongoing Covid surge, Air India has flown in over 8,000 medical equipment — about 190 tonnes — from countries like Hong Kong, Germany , USA , Singapore, UAE and UK to India for onward delivery in various states. In the last 10 days, it has been ferrying critical medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators, BiPAP machines and ventilators from several locations globally as India has seen massive demand for life-saving medical equipment over the last few weeks. Covid-19: Delhi LG asks DMs to identify possible super-spreader areas
Lieutenant governor (LG) Anil Baijal on Tuesday asked all the district magistrates in Delhi to identify areas which have potential to become super spreaders of coronavirus infection. Baijal also directed city police chief and divisional commissioner to review the coronavirus situation daily and submit their report by 7pm everyday.

Two of these plants reached Delhi today, and are being installed at AIIMS and RML Hospitals. These have been supplied by M/s Trident Pneumatics Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore.
