Coronavirus live updates: Canada health regulator approves Pfizer vaccine

India reported 32,080 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 97,35,850, according to data shared by the health ministry on Wednesday. Brazil's Covid-19 death toll tops 178,000
Brazil's COVID-19 death toll rose to 178,159 on Tuesday, after 842 more patients died from the novel coronavirus disease in the previous 24 hours, the health ministry said. According to the ministry, tests detected 51,088 new cases, raising the national count to 6,674,999.

Oxford trials: 6 drop out before second dose
Six participants have dropped out of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine ‘Covishield’ trial that is being carried out at KEM Hospital. The institute said that of the 101 participants, 95 returned for the second dose that was to be administered 29 days after the first. KEM and BYL Nair hospitals are the two trial sites in Mumbai for the UK vaccine that is being tested and marketed by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII). Across the country, 1,600 participants have been enrolled at 17 sites.

Single-day toll of 57 lowest since November 5 in Delhi
Delhi recorded 57 Covid-19 deaths on Tuesday, the lowest in the last 34 days. The total toll in the state has now reached 9,763. “Number of deaths in Delhi are on a decline. Lowest deaths since November 5. Our frontline warriors like doctors and nurses are working round the clock to save each and every life. I request you all to observe all precautions for this trend to decline further (sic),” health minister Satyendar Jain wrote on twitter.
