Chhattisgarh Election Results 2023 Live Updates: The BJP on Sunday not only defied exit poll projections but also raced towards its biggest-ever victory in Chhattisgarh, where it has had three terms since the state's formation in 2000.As per the latest data shared by the Election Commission, the party had won four seats and was leading in 52 of the 90 constituencies in the state. The Congress was ahead in 36 seats.Most exit polls had predicted a close fight between the Congress and the BJP in Chhattisgarh.If this trend translates into results, it will be the biggest victory for the BJP in the assembly elections in the state since it was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in 2000.As per the Election Commission, the BJP has secured 46.34 per cent votes, and Congress 42.12 per cent.In the assembly elections held for the first time in Chhattisgarh in 2003, BJP won 50 seats with a 39.26 per cent vote share.In subsequent polls in 2008 and 2018, then Chief Minister Raman Singh led the party to bag 50 seats (40.33 per cent votes) and 49 seats (41.04 per cent votes), respectively and ruled the state for an uninterrupted 15 years.In 2018, the BJP suffered a massive defeat at the hands of Congress and was reduced to 15 seats securing 32.97 per cent of votes. Chhattisgarh Election Result: Chief Electoral Officer Chhattisgarh Reena Saheb Kangale said that a total of 90 returning officers, 416 assistant returning officers, 4596 counting staff, and 1698 micro observers were appointed for the vote counting process.
In each hall, the counting of votes and postal ballots is being conducted on 14 tables, while six constituencies—Pandaria, Kawardha, Sarangarh, Bilaigarh, Kasdol, and Bharatpur-Sonhat—have 21 tables for counting.

While exit polls are predicting a close fight between the ruling Congress and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party in Chhattisgarh, both Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and former CM Raman Singh on Thursday predicted thumping wins for their parties.Assembly polls were held in two phases in the state on November 7 and 17, while results will be declared on December 3.Talking to reporters at Raipur airport, Baghel, when asked about exit poll predictions, said, "..is there similarity between exit polls (of different agencies and channels)? After two days (on December 3) everyone will show the same poll outcome. Let the exit polls play out but we will form the government with full majority.”Queried about the exit poll of one channel predicting 57 seats for the Congress in the 90-member Assembly, he said, "It will be more than that and 57 will be 75 (seats). The order will be changed."Asked if the Congress had any plan to shift their MLAs to other places to ward off possible horse trading attempts by the BJP, Baghel said there would be no need for it."They (BJP) will not be able to do it. We have full faith in our efforts and the people," Baghel asserted.

According to ABP C-Voter predictions, Congress is poised to win 41-53 seats in the state which has a 90-member assembly. The exit poll said BJP is poised to get 36-48 seats and others 0-4 seats.The India Today-Axis My India poll predicted Congress getting 40-50 seats, BJP 36-46 seats and others getting 1-5 seats.The Republic TV exit poll gave Congress 44-52 seats, BJP 34-42 seats and 0-2 polls for others. India TV-CNX poll predicted 46- 56 seats for Congress, 30-40 seats for BJP and 3-5 for others. The numbers for Congress and BJP in the Jan Ki Baat exit poll were 42-53 and 34-45 respectively and it predicted 0-3 seats for others.The P-Marq poll said Congress is poised to win 46-54 seats with 44.6 per cent vote, BJP 35-42 seats with 42.9 per cent vote and others will get 0-2 seats with 12.5 per cent votes. The poll done by Today's Chanakya predicted that Congress will get 57-66 seats in Chhattisgarh with BJP getting 33-42 seats with 0-3 seats going to the others.
