NEW DELHI: Kishor Nath of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Borkhola constituency with 1,02,775 votes, defeating Congress candidate Amit Kumar Kalwar by a margin of 36,613 votes. Kalwar secured 66,162 votes. Independent candidate Amalendu Das finished third with 3,713 votes.

In the 2026 assembly elections, the BJP fielded Kishor Nath, while the Congress nominated Amit Kumar Kalwar.
In the 2021 Assam assembly elections, the seat was won by Congress candidate Misbahul Islam Laskar, who secured 64,433 votes. He defeated BJP's Amalendu Das, who polled 57,402 votes, with a winning margin of 7,031 votes.
The Assam assembly elections are part of a wider electoral exercise across several states this year. Along with Assam, polling was held in Kerala and Puducherry on April 9, while Tamil Nadu voted on April 23. West Bengal went to polls in two phases on April 23 and April 29.
