NEW DELHI: In Assam's Bhergaon, BPF's Maheswar Baro wins the state assembly elections 2026, beating Nerswn Boro of United People's Party (Liberal) with a margin of 37,797 seats.
Voting for all 126 constituencies took place on April 9, with turnout exceeding 85%—among the highest seen in recent years.
Importantly, the strong voter participation was evident not only in rural regions but also in urban areas, indicating widespread and energetic engagement from voters across the state.
Bhergaon assembly constituency is a newly created Assembly constituency in Assam’s Udalguri district, formed during the 2023 delimitation exercise.
It is an unreserved (General) seat and falls under the Darrang–Udalguri Lok Sabha constituency. The constituency is one of the four Assembly segments in the district, along with Udalguri (ST), Mazbat and Tangla.
