'You’re fired' to Royal regrets: The most quintessentially Donald Trump quotes ever

Though opinions on the Trump administration may differ, there is little debate that US President Donald Trump has never been afraid to speak his mind. His unique communication style, of course, is etched in modern political history. The one-liners have often invited both admiration and ridicule. His one-liners have often invited both admiration and ridicule, and memes, of course. Let's take a look at some of his most popular one-liners.

‘I know words. I have the best words’

‘I know words. I have the best words’

Trump is an effective communicator. He certainly knows his ‘words’, and guess what? He isn't afraid to admit it either. While addressing the crowd in South Carolina during the December 2015 campaign, he picked some careful 'words' from his vocabulary. "I used to call them incompetent; now I just call them stupid. I went to an Ivy League School. I'm very highly educated. I know words, I have the best words. I have the b- But there's no better word than stupid, right? [Laughter] There's no better, there's no better. [Applause, laughter]" Trump said. He made this comment on the Obama administration's handling of the Syrian conflict.

‘Sorry losers and haters, but my I.Q. is one of the highest -and you all know it!’

The US President perhaps thinks a little boasting goes a long way. Trump has boasted about his high IQ. He claims he has an even higher IQ than George W. Bush, Barack Obama, George Will, Karl Rove, and the entire staff of the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune reported. In a post shared on Twitter in 2013, Trump said, "Sorry losers and haters, but my I.Q. is one of the highest -and you all know it! Please don't feel so stupid or insecure, it's not your fault.” This wasn't an isolated incident. Trump has been fixated on IQ as a measure of a person’s worth. The same year in April, he tweeted, “I know some of you may think I'm tough and harsh, but actually I'm a very compassionate person (with a very high IQ) with strong common sense.” And of course, even before and after.

‘You’re fired!’

Before his Presidency, Trump had hosted the reality show The Apprentice, and his iconic catchphrase, “You’re fired!” grabbed eyeballs. He used it to eliminate contestants at the end of each episode. What started as a simple dismissal eventually turned into a pop-culture catchphrase. In fact, back then he filed a copyright request. He sought exclusive rights to use the phrase on items of clothing, as well as ‘games and playthings,’ and in connection with ‘casino services’. The phrase appeared on countless T-shirts and merchandise items, and perhaps you may still have one in your wardrobe.

‘Part of the beauty of me is that I’m very rich’

And no, that’s not Bruce Wayne (Justice League) talking. It’s billionaire real estate mogul and US President Donald Trump, delivering one of his most unmistakably Trumpian lines. Talking to ABC News in March 2011, ahead of his aborted 2012 presidential run, Trump said, "That's one of the nice things. I mean, part of the beauty of me is that I'm very rich. So if I need $600 million, I can put $600 million myself. That's a huge advantage. I must tell you, that's a huge advantage over the other candidates. Perhaps Wayne and Trump can agree on that. Being rich can be a superpower!

‘One regret in the women's department’

‘One regret in the women's department’

In his 1997 book, Trump has spoken about his only regret in the ‘women department’. Guess what that was? Not having dated Princess Diana. Yes, that’s right. In his book, ‘Trump: The Art of the Comeback,’ he said, "I love women. They've come into my life. They've gone out of my life. Even those who have exited somewhat ungracefully still have a place in my heart. I only have one regret in the women's department - that I never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer. I met her on a number of occasions."
