Varun Tej and Saiee Manjrekar-starrer 'Ghani' is all set to hit the theatres this Friday. While the trailer gave us an idea of what to expect from the movie, it gets more interesting as you delve deeper while slowly peeling the different layers of its characters, twists, trauma and suspense. While the impeccable promo has shown that Varun Tej has aced the character of a boxer, we picked out five reasons why this should be on your must-watch list this week.

Varun Tej as a boxer
Varun Tej Konidela for the first time in his career will be seen playing the role of a boxer in the upcoming film. To play the character of a boxer, Varun went through rigorous training, and got sufficient guidance, to play the character better. After watching the trailer, his performance in Ghani reminds you of all the unusual roles he has played to date. It seems that while every character has a role to play, it is Varun who shoulders the weight of this movie.

Saiee Manjrekar's Tollywood debut
Actress Saiee Manjrekar captured the audience’s attention when she played the role of Khushi Chautala in Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg 3 and is now all set to make her Tollywood debut as the leading lady. The actress will be making her debut in 'Ghani'. She will be paired alongside Varun Tej in the forthcoming film. For the uninitiated, Saiee Manjrekar is the daughter of well-known Bollywood actor Mahesh Manjrekar. Saiee has already signed a film opposite Tollywood actor Adivi Sesh. Titled Major, Saiee plays the role of Isha in the movie.

Upendra as Vijender Sinha
Kannada star Upendra will have a special appearance as he essays the role of Vijender Sinha in the film. However, there also seems to be camaraderie between Ghani and Vijender Sinha that will only be explored in the film, but it looks pretty intense and worth watching. Even though he was seen for a few seconds in the trailer, Upendra’s presence is quite captivating. His entry was quite interesting as he warns an opponent in the boxing ring.

S Thaman's music
Ghani’s music is composed by S Thaman. And as you already know, Thaman is known for his thumping, refreshing take on music and his tunes are memorable. The songs have hummable value, especially "Romeo Juliet" sung by director Shankar’s daughter Aditi Shankar and "Kodthe", which was sung by Harika Narayan. It’s a Thaman musical so expect music to fill in the gaps and settle into the storytelling strikingly.

Huge hype
"Ghani" has become one of the most-anticipated films of Varun Tej after the huge hype the action thriller received following the release of its first-look poster and the official trailer. All the posters of the film were well received by social media users, helping the movie to reach out to a wide audience. The pre-release hype has raised expectations of the audience from "Ghani", and if whether the movie lives up to those expectations is something we need to wait and watch in the coming days.
