Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s long-held claim to “not be compared to the next Vijay” has become a hotly debated topic, with social media users discussing his place in Kollywood ahead of two rival releases in January. Speaking at an audio launch,
Sivakarthikeyan has directly tackled the issue, saying how one’s journey taken is different to another’s. There’s no point in trying to match his steps, and he is simply focused on carving his own space in the film industry. “I want to make it clear that I never asked anyone to take one or the other (film), nor did I tell anyone to take my film and discard someone else’s film,” the actor had said. He had made his stance toward a reputed actor clear, and this statement received much applause for his gentle and sensible attitude.
Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ builds emotional weight
That quote of Sivakarthikeyan has resurfaced amidst the ongoing competition between the releases of 'Parasakthi' and Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan'. Vijay has wrapped up shooting for the movie 'Jananaayagan', directed by H Vinoth, with Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju leading the cast. The film's two songs are already trending as chart-toppers, and all eyes are on the film as it is touted to be Vijay's last film as he takes a serious step into political life. 'Thalapathy's 'Jana Nayagan' is the awaited emotional day for fans.
‘Parasakthi’ release shift sparks debate
Running parallel is Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Parasakthi’ directed by Sudha Kongara with important roles played by Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela. Said to be a period film set during the Hindi imposition riots in the 1960s, this could be Sivakarthikeyan’s most politically historic film. Earlier scheduled for a release on Jan 14, the makers have advanced the release to January 10. With 'Jana Nayagan' releasing on Jan 9, social media is abuzz with the collections of both films and what it will mean for this release.
