‘Chatha Pacha’ is a Malayalam action comedy helmed by debutant Adhvaith Nayar. Set against the backdrop of the wrestling culture of Kochi, the film revolves around brothers who establish a WWE-style costume wrestling competition in their town. Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, and Ishan Shoukath appear in the lead roles in the film. Superstar Mammootty makes a cameo appearance in the film.
How Malayalam Cinema Quietly Dominated Indian Cinema in 2025
TOI has ranked the film 3 out of 5, and the review reads, “Adhvaith Nayar’s Chatha Pacha is a film with its share of ups and downs. Some portions are highly entertaining, followed by stretches where the narrative seems to jump all over the place. The basic storyline itself is not new, but the incorporation of costume wrestling into the narrative adds an interesting dimension. However, it is not the high-voltage WWE-inspired film that was promised. Vishak Nair is effective as Cherian and clearly can play a convincing antagonist. Roshan Mathew has his moments, as does Arjun Ashokan. Ishan Shoukath works well as the adorable, star-struck younger brother.”
The film hit the big screens on January 22.
