Pramod Shetty shares big update
According to a report by OTTPlay, Pramod Shetty, who played Dinesha in Ulidavaru Kandanthe, has shared a fresh update. At an event for his upcoming film ‘Shesha’, Pramod Shetty shared that the script of ‘Richard Anthony’ is ready. He said that the team will move into pre-production in the next two to three months. This news has brought relief to fans who waited for years without any clear word.
Rumours regarding the project
For the unversed, the film was announced as a spin-off of 'Ulidavaru Kandanthe'. Since then, years passed with no clear update. Fans slowly started to worry. Many rumours came out. Some said the film was stopped. Some said the production banner had stepped away.
Earlier, Rakshit Shetty had said that he would go on floors in early 2025 and needed around one and a half years to finish the film. By that plan, the release could now happen in late 2027 or early 2028. ‘Richard Anthony’ is said to be both a prequel and a sequel. This is because Rakshit’s character Richie dies in the original film. Most of the shooting is expected to happen in and around Udupi, along with other locations that suit the time of the story.
Speaking of his latest project in the industry, he backed the 2024 romance drama film, ‘Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali’ which starred Vihan Gowda, Mayuri Nataraj, Ankita Amar in key roles.
