Sanjay Dutt's jail term to be made into a film

Actor Sanjay Dutt, recently released from prison, is encouraged to write his memoirs of his experience behind bars and turn it into a film. Even though his friend Raju Hirani is making a film on his life, essayed by the talented Ranbir Kapoor, the film is said to leave out his troubled escapades with the law. We now hear Dutt is taking personal interest in the prison subject, and is discussing it with few people close to him. The last time he spoke to a director, the filmmaker snitched the idea and made a remarkable film on it, without even casting Dutt in it.

Move on to the next slide to read about how Sanjay's jail term changed his life...

When Amitabh Bachchan replaced Sanjay Dutt for an RGV film

Sanjay Dutt is a free man now and is prepping himself up to be back on the silver screen. It has been only a few weeks that the actor got out of jail and filmmakers and producers have started approaching him for various projects. But that, of course, wasn’t the case earlier, as Sanju lost out on many important films due to his conviction in the Arms case. And the first one to fall out of his kitty was Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Nayak.’ Surprised? No we aren’t talking about the 2001 Anil Kapoor-starrer directed by Shankar; we are talking about the one that RGV was making way back in 1993 with Sanjay Dutt as the lead. However, the shooting had to be stopped just after 20 days as Sanjay was arrested in the case. RGV has made this interesting revelation in his recently released book ‘Guns And Thighs.’ He revealed that later on, the film was made as ‘Sarkar’ with Amitabh Bachchan as the lead.

Sanjay Dutt wrote shayari while being in jail

Sanjay Dutt recently walked out of jail after completing his sentence in an arms case related to the 1993 Mumbai blasts. While it is miserable for anyone to be behind the bars, Sanju chose to make the best of his time in jail. Each time he came out on payroll, he surprised everyone with his positive demeanor. While on one hand, the actor worked hard on building a chiseled body, on the other, he utilized his time to write shayari (couplets) while being in prison, which will now be released in the form of a book. “I wrote something. And I will release the book, ‘Salaakhen’. We will show it to some people. Me, along with, Zeishan Qureshi and Sameer Hingle (inmates) wrote 500 shayari. It is all in Hindi,” Sanjay told PTI. Sanjay further said that out of the 500 couplets, he has written about 100.

Now when Sanjay is out of jail, he will soon be back to the world of lights, camera and action. Rajkumar Hirani is even making a biopic on him. Read on to know more details about it...

Sanjay Dutt's biopic to have no reference to his family

Even before the film has gone on floors, Raju Hirani’s next project, a biopic on Sanjay Dutt has been grabbing a lot of attention. While some part of it can be owed to Raju’s first-time tie-up with Ranbir Kapoor (who will portray Sanjay’s character in the film), a bigger credit needs to be given to the highly controversial and interesting life Sanju baba has led. But those who were expecting to see his three wives and various affairs being projected, are in for some disappointment. Raju Hirani has confirmed that family relations and love life are not really part of his film. While talking to DNA, the director justified saying that two and a half hours is very less a time to portray all of it. So instead of touching every aspect and not doing justice to any, he would stick to just the important and relevant chapters of Dutt’s life.

While we are yet to find out what exactly is it that we'll see in the biopic, read on to find out how Sanjay's jail term has changed him and his life...

He can stay home until the authorities decide on another date, the report stated. Confirming the same to Mirror, his lawyer Rizwan Merchant said, "The deemed extension arises based on a statement made by the Home Minister. He said surrender is not necessary until the police gives its report and the authorities decide on Dutt's furlough extension plea. We reached Yerwada and verified this with the authorities after which Sanjay decided to return home." He explained that an application for another 14-day extension was filed before the expiry of the furlough, the report further states. According to reports, actor Sanjay Dutt, who was on a two-week furlough from his term in prison, was to return to jail on January 8 when his leave ended, said his lawyer. Prison authorities had yet to decide on the furlough extension plea made by the actor. Dutt's lawyer, Hitesh Jain, told TOI he was informed that the Khar police have not even received the file from Pune despite the application having been made a week ago. "The papers haven't reached Mumbai from the Pune prison, which is a three-hour ride away, though technically the law requires action to be taken against a convict on furlough only if he fails to return after 28 days end, on the 29th day, Dutt will abide by the permission in hand and return to prison on January 8. It is the price a celebrity pays," Hitesh was quoted as saying.
