Bollywood sequels to look forward to

The lockdown may have brought the entire film industry to a grinding halt, but it has not stopped some top actors and directors from planning their next film.

According to a report on Mumbai Mirror, Ajay Devgn is set to return to the big screen as a no-nonsense IRS officer, in the sequel of his highly appreciated film ‘Raid’. A sequel to the film is reportedly in the works and the team has even begun working on the script. There is, however, a lot of responsibility and pressure riding on this film, to ensure it lives up to if not exceeds the expectations laid down by the first film.

Tentatively titled ‘Raid 2’, the film is expected to go on floors only next year. The report further goes on to state that the makers plan on wrapping up the film in one marathon schedule.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ajay can take this lockdown as a well-deserved break after his film ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ became the highest-earning Bollywood film in the first quarter at the box office. Clocking in over Rs 250 crore the film would have faced tough competition from Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ featuring Ajay in a cameo. However, owing to the pandemic that was followed with a lockdown, the film’s release has been postponed indefinitely.

After entertaining the audience with first zombie movie of Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu and others are all set with the sequel of the horror comedy.

The film was officially announced today by the makers. The sequel of the film will officially start where the original movie ended. The film will reportedly go on floors from September this year and will hit the theatres in March 2021. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, he will be seen reuniting with Eros International reunite for ‘Go Goa Gone 2’.

Earlier speaking about the second instalment, Kunal Kemmu had reportedly said that it is one of the most anticipated films for him too. He had revealed that they have been trying to start it for the longest time. Although he did not know exactly when it's going to start at that time, he confessed that he is super excited. According to the actor, it is one of the closest films to his heart and he just couldn’t wait to work for ‘Go Goa Gone 2’.

Chitrangda Singh, who made her production venture with the critically acclaimed 'Soorma', is all set to take the franchise further.

According to reports, the actress-producer is getting ready to present a sequel to the film that will reportedly be inspired by a real-life hero and will be very strong on the emotion quotient.

A source close to the actress tells us, “Chitrangda has always been drawn to strong scripts and 'Soorma 2' is no different. She is now working in a very focussed way on locking in the rest of the details around the film, and it should be ready to go on the floor very soon.”

Soorma' revolved around the life of hockey legend Sandeep Singh and featured Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi in lead roles.

It’s a schedule wrap for Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming rom-com ‘Dostana 2’. The stars, who were in Punjab these past weeks, announced the wrap of a successful first schedule that commenced early this month.

Taking to his Instagram handle, the hunk shared a group selfie that not only featured his beautiful co-star, but also his director Collin D’Cunha and the rest of the crew. “Nyt shoot ends and so does #Dostana2 ka Punjab Schedule. First Schedule Wraps,” he captioned the post.

It also happened to be a rather dramatic and filmy wrap as the actors shot a rain sequence, of which we all got a glimpse of in Kartik’s stories.

Also starring actor Lakshya, the film is slated to release next year.

The film’s shoot has wrapped up just in time for the hunk’s birthday tomorrow. However, it will be a working birthday for Kartik as he has a round of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ promotions to attend as the film gears up for its December 6 release.

Hrithik Roshan is all set to entertain his audience with one of his most awaited sequels of his popular franchise, ‘Krissh’. While reports were rife that the film will be helmed by ‘Kaabil’ fame director Sanjay Gupta and not Rakesh Roshan, the latter recently rubbished all such rumours.

Spilling beans on the same, Rakesh Roshan reportedly said that he will be directing it and Sanjay Gupta is writing the script with him. The director added that they are working together on this. Sanjay is currently busy with his Mumbai Saga shoot.

Elaborating further, he added that he will announce the film once he is sure about the script. He also reportedly added that the day he decides to make it, it will take him one more year to start the film. Being a big film in terms of vision and VFX, the preproduction will take a lot of time. According to Rakesh, his is the only franchise which is going from story to story. The filmmaker feels while Hollywood can afford budgets, they can score on emotions. Three breath-taking emotional action scenes will score over 10 mindless action sequences.

A sequel to the 2007 hit ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ is underway. And unlike the original, the second part of the film will not have Akshay Kumar as the lead but instead Kartik Aaryan has been roped in. The makers also unveiled some first look posters of the film featuring Kartik recently.

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee recently opened up on why he felt the actor was suitable to step into the shoes of Akshay Kumar in the film. According to Bazmee, Kartik has a tremendous aptitude for comedy, and can also look vulnerable and almost childlike on screen, just like Akshay Kumar.

The other cast of the film is yet to be revealed. The film will hit the theatres on July 31, 2020.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kartik will next be seen coming together with his ladylove Sara Ali Khan for Imtiaz Ali’s next. The film has been tentatively titled, ‘Aaj Kal’.

He is also currently shooting for the official remake of ‘Pati patni Aur Woh’ which also stars Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.

Kartik Aaryan has also been roped in for ‘Dostana 2’.

When Karan Johar announced that the sequel to ‘Dostana’ will be having Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, the rumours around the new on-screen couple’s chemistry and the story line started doing the rife. However, if the latest reports are to be believed then Kartik and Janhvi will not be romancing one another but will be seen as brother and sister in the movie.

Reportedly, a source has unveiled that Kartik and Janhvi have been roped in to play siblings on the big screen. And if you think that’s the only big surprise, then please wait till you hear about the ‘suitable boy’.

Clearing the air on the same, Remo reportedly rubbished all such reports. According to him, the film is being pushed because of the heavy post-production work. Alia Bhatt has her fans waiting in great anticipation after she announced that she will be collaborating with her sister Pooja Bhatt and Father Mahesh Bhatt for the first time in the sequel of their popular film, ‘Sadak’.

According to the latest reports, Alia Bhatt will be seen sporting a no make-up look in the film. Alia will be reportedly seen in almost nude makeup with just a light primer on her face. The reports also added that in the first schedule, her face donned a naked appearance. For the first few days of the leg, she was ready in 25 minutes. The team is reportedly using a light primer base with the foundation to create a dewy effect. There will be a light rose blush on the cheekbones, coupled with kohl in her eyes, and a nude satin pink lipstick.

Apart from Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt from the original film, ‘Sadak 2’ will star Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Gulshan Grover, Makrand Deshpande and others in pivotal roles. It is slated to release on July 10, 2019.

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is all set to impress his audience and fans with his upcoming film that stars youngsters Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan. The film also stars Randeep Hooda in the film which marks his association with the director after ‘Highway’.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is all set to take over the director’s chair yet again after a long time for the much-awaited sequel of his 1991 hit ‘Sadak’ then starring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. The shooting of the film has already begun.

Now, according to the latest reports, Saif Ali Khan has denied the rumors of being a part of the film.

The reports have it that though Saif did get the offer for the movie from Imtiaz Ali, he did not sign the film owing to his tight schedule. However, the actor wished the best to the lead pair for their respective parts. Moreover, he is very excited that his daughter Sara is working with Imtiaz Ali.

This much awaited Bollywood sequel is slated to release on February 14, 2020.

Sonakshi Sinha who will be next seen in Abhishek Varman's 'Kalank' recently jetted off to Madhya Pradesh for the shoot of her next film, Dabangg 3' opposite superstar Salman Khan.

The actress took to her Instagram story to share a monochrome selfie and captioned it, "On my way to #Dabangg3." She was wearing a white kurta-pyjama with blue floral print and a dupatta. She sported a white Kolhapuri.

With 'Dabangg 3', Sonakshi will be collaborating with Salman for the third time.

Helmed by Prabhu Deva, the shooting of the film started from April 1.

According to reports, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Ahmed Khan along with the crew are leaving for a recce of locations in four countries. The team will be scouting for locations in a 15-day planned recce across Morocco, Egypt, Serbia and Turkey. They feel Turkey and Serbia suit their narrative, but they will reportedly also explore Egypt and Morocco for more options.

‘Baaghi 3’ is reportedly set to hit the theatres on March 6, 2020.

Rumour has it that Kareena Kapoor Khan has signed on her next film – the ‘Hindi Medium’ sequel, opposite Irrfan Khan. Although there has been no official confirmation on the same, some reports hint at the actress playing a leading role, while others claim it will be an extended cameo.

Now, according to the latest reports, Kareena will reportedly be seen playing a cop in the Homi Adajania-directed venture and will join the unit only by May-end during the London schedule. Talking about the film, the film is titled as 'English Medium' and the story of the film revolves around Irrfan’s daughter who goes to the US to study.

It was only last week that we spotted Irrfan Khan making a quiet exit out of the city. The actor surprised everyone with his public appearance in over 8 months since revealing that he is battling cancer. After taking the long road to recovery and responding well to his treatment, the actor is now expected to resume shooting of the sequel to his hit 2017 flick ‘Hindi Medium’.

According to the latest report, the actor might just be back to the sets sooner than expected as producer Dinesh Vijan revealed in an interview that they would like to make the film this year. While stating that they are adding the finishing touches to the script, the producer also said that the team is waiting for Irrfan to “get comfortable” and will only make an official confirmation in a month.

Apart from ‘Hindi Medium 2’, Irrfan was also slated to reunite with his ‘Piku’ co-star Deepika Padukone for a film that was put on the back burner until his recovery.

After showing off some action in her last venture ‘Race 3’ starring Salman Khan and others, Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to tickle your funny bones. The actress has been reportedly roped in for the sequel of ‘Chashme Baddoor’.

According to reports, Jacqueline will be seen playing the main lead in the sequel of the 2013 sleeper comedy hit, ‘Chashme Baddoor’. The reports also suggest that while the first part was directed by David Dhawan, the sequel might apparently be directed by Farhad Samji.

The script of the film is reportedly in place and the casting for the male lead is apparently underway. Farhad had written dialogues for the first part along with his brother Sajid Samji will soon start working on the film. The film is expected to go on floors in coming months.

2017 released Dinesh Vijan production ‘Hindi Medium’ was one of the most successful movies of the year and now the makers are soon going to start with the shoot of its sequel. According to a DNA report, the ‘Parched’ fame star Radhika Apte and the ‘Pataakha’ actress Radhika Madan have been approached to play the female lead in the movie. Reportedly, the formal will be seen playing Irrfan Khan’s wife in the movie, while the latter might be featuring as their daughter. An official confirmation from the movie’s makers on the casting is yet to come.

The same report also has it that right now the title of the movie is also under the process. Since the movie’s story will now be focused on Irrfan’s daughter wanting to move to abroad for further studies, reportedly the producers are thinking to title the movie as ‘English Medium’.

The buzz also has it that the movie will be mostly shot in the US and London.

Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are all set to recreate the magic of ‘ABCD 2’ with the third instalment of the film. The actors who have kick-started their shooting schedule in London recently shared pictures from the sets and it is a treat for their fans this Valentine’s Day.

Many names have been doing the rounds for the female lead ever since and it is Kareena Kapoor Khan who is the latest one to be approached.

According to reports, Kareena has been approached for the ‘Hindi Medium 2’, co-starring Irrfan Khan. However, the actress is yet to give her nod for the same.

The film marks a sequel to 2017-released ‘Hindi Medium’. It also featured Deepak Dobriyal, Dishita Sehgal and Amrita Singh in pivotal roles.

On the work front, Kareena has reportedly started shooting for her upcoming film ‘Good News’ which also stars Akshay Kumar and Diljit Dosanjh. She also has Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ in her kitty.

Indra Kumar is all set to take his ‘Dhamaal’ franchise ahead with the upcoming third instalment of the film titled, ‘Total Dhamaal’. While the audiences are already excited for the film, there is one more thing that would up your anticipation levels and that is Sonakshi Sinha’s special dance number in the film.

Sonakshi will be seen recreating the iconic dance number ‘Mungda’ for the film. Taking to her Instagram handle, she shared a glimpse of her look from the song with her fans and followers. In the pictures, Sonakshi can be seen donning a peacock blue attire, looking stunning as ever.

Apart from the original cast, the film also stars Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit who will be seen uniting on the screen after about 18 long years.

Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor are all set to show off their dancing prowess in the third instalment of Remo D’Souza’s dance film ‘ABCD’. The film which is reportedly titled as ‘3’, will be featuring the reprised version of the popular track ‘Bezubaan’ in the film.

According to reports, the song ‘Bezubaan’ from the first instalment has been retained and has been given a new touch. The dance styles along with the backdrop will be completely different. The report also stated that apart from ‘Bezubaan’ two more songs will be remade, while one is a popular 90s song, the other one is a hit track by Guru Randhawa.

Varun and Shraddha will be seen performing different styles including krumping, tutting, and locking, popping and afro jazz in the movie. The actors are undergoing training for the same.

Reports are also rife that they both will be in rival teams and the film will feature several dance face-offs between their teams.

A few days back there were rumours that Popular dancer Shakti Mohan to be making her Bollywood debut in ABCD franchise. Recently, the star revealed to a daily that she is super excited about debuting with her mentor Remo D'Souza and gave her fans a confirmation that has joined the cast of 'ABCD 3'.

Talking to a leading daily, Shakti reportedly said that she is super excited about debuting with her mentor Remo D'Souza. She stated that does not generally enjoy acting. However, she is super excited about this project because it is a dance movie and that she would be working with her coach Remo. The star said that she is looking forward to head to London with the entire team, for the first schedule of the movie. She reportedly said that she is hoping it will be like a picnic, shooting with her dear friends in the picturesque locales of London.

Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer film 'Simmba' is roaring loud if we look at its box office collection. The film has collected Rs 138 crore approx on its fifth day since the release.

Now, reports suggest that a sequel to the film is a possibility after looking at an amazing response by the moviegoers. The director of the film, Rohit Shetty is known to make franchise films and it is being said that 'Simmba' will be his next franchise.

A report stated that Ranveer will be back as Simmba again and Ajay Devgn will not have a cameo appearance in the film but a full-fledged role as Bajirao Singham. They will be fighting the bad guys together.

Katrina Kaif recently opted out from Remo D'Souza's dance film, tentatively titled 'ABCD 3' to due to her commitments with Salman Khan starrer 'Bharat'. Varun Dhawan is the male lead of the film and Katrina was supposed to romance the actor.

Now, according to the latest reports, Shraddha Kapoor might get on board for the film. The actress has worked in the previous installment of the film. Actresses like Jacqueline Fernandez and Kriti Sanon were on the list, however, Shraddha topped the list.

The story of the film will be independent, just like the previous film, and it will start rolling in January 2019 in Amritsar. Reportedly, in February, the will be filming in London followed by Mumbai in July. The makers of the film are aiming for November release.

Remo's wife stated that everything happens for a good reason and did not comment on Shraddha being approached for the film. While Bhushan Kumar who is backing the film said that they are analyzing who would be the best fit for the film.

Tiger Shroff will soon be back with the third instalment of the action-packed ‘Baaghi’ franchise and fans can expect it to only get bigger, better and bloodier. According to the latest reports, Ahmed Khan, who will direct the third flick after a successful run with ‘Baaghi 2’, is all set to amp up the action in this flick that brings back Tiger as the character Ronnie.

The director has expressed his desire to shoot the film in Syria and Iraq as his film will allegedly require that kind of terrain. Admitting that shooting in these war-torn areas will be difficult, he said the team will first have to check the possibilities about the same. He went on to add that even though the film will be high on action sequences with Tiger set to perform some crazy stunts, use heavy artillery and beating up bad guys with different combat style, ‘Baaghi 3’ will have an emotional story at its core.

The team will reportedly begin shooting the dramatic scenes first before moving on to the action sequences, which may have a longer schedule.

‘Baaghi 3’ is slated for a 6t March 2020 release.

Few years before, the makers have announced the sequel to the film however the star cast was not confirmed.

According to the latest report on a web portal, Salman Khan has been dropped out of the film as the actor is busy with his prior commitments and other projects thus has refrained from doing the film. And 'Namaste England' actor Arjun Kapoor will be replacing 'bhai' in the film. While Anil Kapoor will be retained in the film, the makers are in search of Fardeen Khan's replacement.

With this its confirmed that Salman Khan won't be the part of 'No Entry' sequel as Arjun has now stepped in his shoes. The film is expected to go on floors, in September, next year.

According to reports, the actress has been roped in Anurag Basu ‘Life In A... Metro’ sequel. Apparently, Taapsee Pannu was the first choice but she could give commitment due to date issues, hence the makers approached Fatima instead. The sequel also boasts of a big cast with stars like Saif Ali Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Sonakshi Sinha, Abhishek Bachchan, Ishaan Khatter and Parineeti Chopra. As for the nature of the film, it is touted to explore the underbelly of Mumbai. Of course this is all mere speculation at this point with confirmation awaited from either party.
