Actors whose careers were revived by Salman Khan

Salman Khan is rightly known as the Robinhood of Bollywood. The actor, who has a heart of gold, has provided a platform for many fresh faces in Bollywood. The good Samaritan that he is, he has also helped revive the careers of many, right from the actors to singers to musicians. Here we take a look at some of the actors whose sinking ships were saved by Salman Khan in the industry…
2/8

Bobby Deol

After being away from the limelight for a long time, actor Bobby Deol is back in the picture with Salman Khan starrer ‘Race 3’. The actor was last seen in Shreyas Talpade’s ‘Poster Boys’. His performance in the film was much appreciated and that sure did earn him a place in this big banner project.
Also, Salman Khan, who was apparently impressed by his work in ‘Race 3’, has also reportedly approached him for an important character in his upcoming starrer ‘Bharat’. The makers are now looking at working around Bobby's dates to make him a part of Bharat.
Reports were also rife that Salman will also be doing a special song sequence in ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 3’. It is needless to say that his presence in the movie is sure going to give the necessary boost to the film.

Karina Kaif

There's no denying the fact that Katrina Kaif and Salman have an amazing camaraderie both off and onscreen. Not only that, but the two hold a very warm place for each other in their hearts and share a great deal of friendship. Apart from that Katrina has also received some major boost in her career due to Salman.
Katrina grabbed the spotlight when she featured in Salman Khan starrer ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ which was followed by ‘Partner’ where she was paired opposite Govinda but it was ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ which catapulted her into stardom.
Although her alleged relationship with Salman broke after she allegedly started dating Ranbir Kapoor, she was taken back with open arms by the ‘Dabangg’ star after her alleged split with the Kapoor scion. Her last flick ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ starring Salman Khan came as a relief for the actress after facing a series of the debacle at the box-office with ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ and ‘Jagga Jasoos’.
4/8

Armaan Kohli

After his successful stint in television reality show Bigg Boss 7, Armaan grabbed the much-needed spotlight. Not only that, he also attracted the attention of host Salman Khan who then gave the long-lost actor a chance of revival.
Salman Khan offered Armaan a role in his film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, directed by Sooraj Barjatya. Armaan played the role of Salman’s second brother ‘Chirag’ in the film. Needless to say, Armaan’s character garnered much appraise from both audience and critics alike.
The film was Armaan’s comeback on the silver screen after 11-years.
5/8

Govinda

After having a fairly successful run in the 90s, Govinda’s career took a backseat in the mid-2000s. The actor, who reportedly admitted that he was at home without work for almost four years, was given a chance of comeback into Bollywood with ‘Partner’ by Salman Khan. Khan not only helped the actor financially but also starred himself in the film in a pivotal role.
Reports are also rife that Salman has once again come into Govinda’s rescue by recommending his name for the judges’ panel of dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ as the ‘Dabangg’ star happens to be close to the channel due to his association with another reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ on the same channel.

Neil Nitin Mukesh

After a series of duds in his career, Neil Nitin Mukesh bagged Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ starring Salman Khan. The actor reportedly admitted that the film came in as a big boost to his career.
Neil played the role of Salman's step-brother in the movie with shades of grey. The role was apparently offered to Vidyut Jammwal first. However, due to date issues, the role went on to Neil Nitin Mukesh.
7/8

Suniel Shetty

Despite being a known figure in the industry and having a decent career run, actor Suneil Shetty apparently lost his lustre after featuring in some films like ‘Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai’, ‘Tum Milo Toh Sahi’ and ‘Thank You’ which tanked at the box-office.
It was during those times that Salman and Sohail Khan reportedly signed him for ‘Jai Ho’ where the actor played the role of a military officer.
8/8

Ashmit Patel

It seems like Salman has a knack for saving fading careers. Along with launching newbie Daisy Shah in ‘Jai Ho’, Salman revived the career of ‘Bigg Boss 4’ fame Ashmit Patel by casting him in the film.
Talking about his character in the film, Ashmit, who plays the role of Salman’s childhood friend, had reportedly said the film is huge and is being mounted on a huge canvas.
