Security tightened on Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' sets after leaks and viral AI clip: Reports
After a number of leaks from the sets of the movie 'King', the makers of the Shah Rukh Khan-led actioner are reportedly going all out to tighten security. The Siddharth Anand directorial was back in the headlines this week after a 15-minute AI-generated clip, using the leaked images, videos and paparazzi footage went viral online.

AI clip of 'King' goes viral

This clip came after a series of leaks from the film's on-location shots, including character first looks and visuals from some song shoots with Deepika Padukone and others from action scenes featuring Abhishek Bachchan, were posted online. According to reports, a fan-made clip, stitched together the leaked visuals and paparazzi footage to give fans a “mini version” of the film. Since it was shared online, news reports claim that the production team, with the help of fans, mass-reported the video and took it down from several social media platforms.

Security tightened after leaks from 'King' sets

A report on Mid-Day quoted a source close to the production noting that the team was allegedly upset after stills from the climax shoot and sequences from the Cape Town schedule were leaked online. While admitting that it is impossible to contain clips and photos when SRK is shooting in public settings, "the AI edit crossed a line because it attempted to recreate the narrative of the film."The insider further revealed that security has now been significantly tightened around the current shooting schedule near Ghodbunder Road on the outskirts of Mumbai.
“This set in Mumbai is a busy area, so removing phone access won’t help much. But movement in the action portions and crucial scenes has become extremely restricted," the report states.

Director Siddharth Anand's request to fans

The leaked set visuals also prompted director Siddharth to request fans not to circulate unauthorised material from the sets. “Please do not post or circulate any leaked multimedia from the sets of ‘King’. The team is working around the clock to ensure the best cinematic experience for everyone. Let us wait for the surprise on the big screen.”

'King' to wrap shoot by July

With a major portion of the film complete, the team is now reportedly in its 'final leg' and just two months away from wrapping up production. "A lot of patchwork, action inserts, and another schedule remain to be done, with VFX work going on simultaneously. The film is looking to wrap by July-end,” the report states.

'King' release date

The film is currently slated to release over the Christmas break - December 24, 2026. The film is one of the highly anticipated movies of the year. It will, however, release amid a tight release window, arriving just a week after the Marvel superhero film 'Avengers: Doomsday' and the final chapter in the 'Dune' saga. The film will also face competition from 'Jumanji 3' at the international box office.
