Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan is steadily recovering after a serious health scare earlier this year. The 90-year-old, who had been hospitalised for nearly a month following a brain haemorrhage, is now back home, with a recent photo offering reassurance about his improving condition.
Trade analyst Komal Nahta shared the update on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, posting a picture from Salim Khan’s residence. In the image, Salim is seen seated comfortably on a beige sofa, dressed in a checkered shirt, light trousers, and white sandals, while Komal and a friend sit beside him.
“Was delighted to meet
Salim Khan saab yesterday at his residence, with friend Raja Shetiya,” Komal wrote.
He added, “The veteran writer is recovering slowly but surely after his 28-day hospitalisation in February-March. Thank you Dr. Sandeep Chopra for making this meeting possible.”
The update comes shortly after Salim Khan made a public appearance with his son,
Salman Khan, during Eid in March. The father-son duo greeted fans from their balcony, marking Salim Khan’s first outing since being discharged. At the time, he was seen using a wheelchair.
Salim Khan had been admitted to hospital on February 17 after suffering a brain haemorrhage. He was rushed in by his family doctor and placed in the ICU on ventilator support. Following a minor procedure, he remained under close observation. During his hospital stay, several industry figures—including Shilpa Shetty, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and close friend Javed Akhtar—visited him.
Doctors had performed a procedure known as Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), led by neurosurgeon Nitin Dange. The diagnostic technique is used to detect conditions such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, fistulas, and other cerebrovascular issues, including strokes.
A few days before his discharge, Arbaaz Khan had shared that his father was responding well to treatment. Salim Khan was eventually discharged on March 17 and continues to recover at home.
