Preity Zinta takes holy dip at Mahakumbh, says: "Wanted to be liberated"
Bollywood actress Preity Zinta recently attended the Maha Kumbh Mela, joining several celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, and Akshay Kumar in the sacred gathering.
Taking to X, Preity shared her profound experience of the pilgrimage, calling it “magical, heartwarming, and a bit sad.”
“This was my third time at the Kumbh Mela & it was magical, heartwarming & a bit sad. Magical because no matter how hard I try, I cannot explain how I felt. Heartwarming because I went with my mom & it meant the world to her,” she wrote.
Preity also expressed deep introspection about life and attachment, revealing that she sought spiritual liberation but realized she wasn’t ready to let go of her loved ones. “Sad, because I wanted to be liberated from the various cycles of life & death only to realise the duality of life & attachment. Am I ready to let go of my family, my children & the people I love? No! I’m not!” she admitted.
The actress further reflected on the profound realization that spirituality is ultimately a solo journey. “It’s deeply moving & humbling when it dawns on you, that the strings of attachment are strong & mighty & no matter what your attachment is, eventually your spiritual journey & the journey ahead is solo! I came back with the notion that – we are not human beings having a spiritual experience but spiritual beings having a human experience.”
She concluded her post with gratitude and faith, signing off with Har Har Mahadev and her signature Ting.
Preity also shared a video capturing her experience—from taking a dip at Triveni Sangam to exploring other sacred sites—giving fans a glimpse into her spiritually enriching journey.
“Beyond this I don’t know, but I’m confident, my curiosity will definitely pave the way towards all the answers I seek… till then … हर हर महादेव ting,” Preity Zinta concluded.
