Ashish Chanchlani reveals ‘Ekaki’ Chapter 5 delay due to VFX crash, says, ‘Nazar is real, koi na we’ll be back’

Ashish Chanchlani, a leading online content maker and performer in India, has now tried directing for the first time with his show ‘Ekaki’. This scary-fun-thriller series gets lots of praise for its fun plot, great acting, and his sure-handed direction. Each episode builds more suspense and thrill, keeping people glued to the screen.After dropping four episodes, Ekaki's Chapter 5 was set to launch on January 30. But today, Ashish posted on his Instagram story to give fans a key update, announcing the episode won't arrive as scheduled. In an emotional note, Ashish opened up about wanting to stay honest with fans, knowing their constant support and understanding. He revealed that Chapter 5 had many surprises lined up, but a sudden problem flipped everything. A hard drive crash wiped out almost 20% of the VFX shots, erasing six months of nonstop effort from the whole team.Calling it a tense and scary moment, Ashish told fans that the team is working to fix the problem and find a way forward. He ended by asking people to wait patiently and trust the team, promising the episode will come soon and be worth the wait. He also wrote in the story, “Nazar is real..Koi na we'll be back” Ashish juggles multiple roles in ‘Ekaki’ as writer, director, producer, and star actor. It also brings back his close collaborators: Kunal Chhabhria as co-producer, Akash Dodeja in a key parallel lead role, Jashan Sirwani as executive producer, and Tanish Sirwani guiding the creative side. The screenplay has been co-written by Grishim Nawanii, and Ritesh Sadhwani comes on board as the line producer. ‘Ekaki’ premiered its first episode on November 27, 2025. The most recent episode dropped on January 5, 2026, and the series is streaming exclusively on ACV Studios’ YouTube channel.
