Akshaye Khanna reveals what he respected his father Vinod Khanna the most for: ' He wasn't scared of anything"
Akshaye Khanna is the man of the moment in a good and bad way, on one hand his performance as Rehman Dakait in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar has been widely appreciated and on other hand his controversial exit from Drishaym 3 is showcasing him in the wrong light. In a time like this, a video clip of Akshaye from the time he was promoting his film Gandhi, My Father backed by Anil Kapoor began doing the rounds.
In his conversation with Aaj Tak, Akshaye revealed the one quality of his father that he respected a lot, the conversation are around the film Gandhi, My Father where Akshaye played the role of Mahatma Gandhi's son Harilal Gandhi and the movie was about their frosty relationship. Talking about his father veteran actor Vinod Khanna, AKshaye said , " I respect him for the way he lived his life, he lived on his own terms and there were very few people who could do that to the extent he went."
" He was not scared of anything, take the example of the earthquake that took place in Gujarat in 2000s, he told us he's going there for few days and if he can do some work there. He stayed on for 4 months and put up the largest non-government camp there" he added.
Akshaye was launched in the movies by his father with the film Himalay Putra directed by Pankaj Parashar, but it was JP DUtta Border 2 that turned him into an overnight sensation. He will be reportedly reprising his Border role in Border 2 which is slated to release on Republic Day weekend.
Dhurandhar has set the box office on fire with a total collection of over Rs 700 crore in India making it the biggest Hindi film of all time. It has also become the highest gorssing Hindi film in North America beating Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan.
